Meeting #1 - April 22, 2024

What is CTE?  How can schools apply for funding?

The SCPCSD held an online informational meeting on April 22, 2024.  Maria Swygert and her team from the SC Department of Education shared information from the state level, and Tracie Sweet, SCPCSD Director of Federal Programs, shared the district's application process and timeline. Understanding CTE Programs - A Walk Through the Student Report Procedures Guide


In an effort to help schools better understand CTE programs, what it means for a student to be considered "a completer," how to find course codes, and complete the 2024-2025 CTE Application, the district partnered with the SCDE to offer a 2nd informational meeting on May 2nd from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.  Dr. Eleanor Glover Gladney and her team from the SC Department of Education Office of CTE and Student Transition Services presented additional programmatic information, including a walk through the Student Report Procedures Guide.  If you are applying for 2024-2025 CTE Perkins and EIA funding, please watch the recording to become familiar with the course requirements.

CTE Overview

Today’s cutting-edge, rigorous and relevant career and technical education (CTE) prepares youth and adults for a wide range of high-wage, high-skill, high-demand careers. The CTE Administration Team provides for the management of the federal Perkins program and state EIA CTE programs. This includes financial management and allocation of funds for schools, state and federal accountability, state plan development and local plan approval, federal and state reporting, and data collection and analysis.
