Parent Notification
The Title III program office provides a paper version of parent notifications (PNs) (in the top five languages in South Carolina) for districts who need PNs to implement or are not utilizing an electronic version. These versions of the PNs are not yet mandated by the state but are available for use until uniform procedures are determined statewide. Districts are responsible for providing documents in a language the family understands beyond what is provided by the state. Additional translated documents provided by districts are shared below.

Waiver of ESOL Services - Form W: Parent/Guardian Waiver of English to Speakers of Other Languages
Please review the form in its entirety to ensure the correct one is in use. Form W is utilized if a parent/guardian requests a waiver after receiving the appropriate parent notification letter. A waiver must never be suggested to the parent/guardian as all MLs should receive services to meet their needs. However, parents/guardians must be made aware of their right to waive services (but not the annual ELP assessment) through the parent notification letter (see provided letters). Waivers are only valid for the school year they are signed in, and must be completed annually by the parent/guardian if services are being waived.
