Federal Programs 101 (New Staff & New Schools)

Presented by Susan Howard, Julie Iacuone, and Dawn Knapper.  This presentation is intended for staff at new schools and staff new to supporting programmatic or fiscal requirements of federal programs.  This session will focus on identifying systems to access, adherence to school processes, and identifying supports for your school. 

Finance Deep Dive

Presented by Mandy Freeman and Nicky Templar.  This presentation is intended for coordinators and finance personnel who manage the reimbursement process at the school-level.  This session will focus on understanding the finance documentation required for each type of reimbursement.  All you need to know about submitting claim packets and best practices from a finance perspective. 

Perfecting the Reimbursement Process

Presented by Tracie Sweet & Mandy Freeman.  This presentation is intended for programmatic coordinators and finance personnel who manage the reimbursement process at the school-level.  Participants will leave with tips to help improve the reimbursement process, including how to increase the percentage of reimbursements approved without rejections! 

Procurement & Non-Competitive Procurement

Presented by Julie Iacuone and Susan Howard. This presentation is intended for programmatic and fiscal staff who ensure activities and processes follow their school’s procurement procedures.  This session will focus on identifying newly enforced SCDE noncompetitive procurement requirements, beyond what was addressed in the whole group session.  Participants will identify barriers and successes to charter adherence to these requirements. 

Programmatic Deep Dive

Presented by Becky Huggins and Andrea Green.  This presentation is intended for coordinators and finance personnel who manage the reimbursement process at the school-level.  This session will focus on understanding the programmatic documentation required for each type of reimbursement. 

McKinney-Vento/Homeless

Presented by Becky Huggins.  This presentation is intended for programmatic coordinators and finance personnel who play a role in the school's McKinney-Vento/Homeless program.  Participants will leave with a better understanding of what is allowable under McKinney-Vento, how to request the use of funds for students experiencing homelessness, and how to request reimbursement for those funds. 

SC Educator & HR

Presented by Jackie Snell and Dawn Knapper.  This session will cover submitting information for SC Educator staff listing for schools. When to submit and how to submit the correct information based on the personnel action being submitted.   It will also cover HR updates such as benefits for new hires and open enrollment for state benefits that will be coming up in the month of October.  The targeted audience would be any HR or Finance representatives.
